We packed in all the major sights in about 1.5 days, in addition to attending Mass at Westminster Cathedral and an evening service at Westminster Abbey. Both were beautiful and the Abbey had an amazing choir that really made the place feel angelic. We thought most places were the best to see at night with all the lights on and both evenings were just lovely.
Buckingham Palace
Houses of Parliament and Big Ben
London Eye
Our hotel room looked out at Wembley Stadium.
We also waited for the changing of the guards in front of Buckingham Palace, but it was eventually cancelled due to rain. All we saw were horses.
Westminster Abbey
We of course had to make a stop at Canning Town (for obvious reasons).
We had fish and chips for dinner in Notting Hill and then walked around a bit.
We passed this clothing shop that had all these antique sewing machines in the window.
Tower of London and Tower Bridge
Elizabeth's Favorite: The night we arrived we walked by Buckingham Palace (suitcase in tow) and then we cut across a park to see Big Ben. In the middle of the park there is a bridge were you can see both the Palace and Parliament. It is hard to describe, but the moment was magical and I'll never forget that spot.
Dan's Favorite: Evensong at Westminster Abbey.
Amazing! So beautiful. I remember ealking across the tower bridge with you, & going inside Westminster Abbey. Pretty city. Wonderful that you and Dan can share it. Much love.
